Steller : The Future of Social Media Story Telling

Hey guys and gals, it's been a while, but I'm back and I wanted to write a little review to tell you about an awesome app I've been using as of late. This is not a paid ad, I just really like it and thought I'd share. If you haven't guessed already, it's called Steller, and it's all about sharing stories. If you've ever used Instagram or Snap Chat, you're probably accustomed to creating and sharing stories. Be it stories about your life, your travels, your pets or anything else, most of us are pretty familiar with the typical platform and how it works. This is why I love Steller so much. It takes the same concept behind those popular apps, but adds an entirely different spin on it.

So, the way Steller works is pretty cool. You import your photos/videos from a trip or whatever you're sharing, and it gives you a template to start with. You then build a story around this foundation, using your own photos, videos, and words to create a fun little flip book for others to view. Now obviously there's a lot of in depth stuff the app offers, but that's the basic idea of it. My favorite part personally is how the stories are your actual content, so rather than posting a picture as you do on instagram and then creating stories separately, Steller creates a cohesive way to not only share your stories, but also to log your photos and videos.

I created this story about my recent trip to Colorado and had a blast making it. it feels like an instagram story, but if that was the content itself.

I also really enjoy adding others stories to my customized collections. I have one collection specifically for future locations I'd like to visit. It's super helpful with planning future trips and it creates a really cohesive community on the platform. The possibilities for these collections are endless, since you can have as many as you'd like (as far as I can tell). You can use them to organize your own stories even better, so if you have a good bit of stories on your page, but you want to find places with waterfalls, you can if you have them in that collection. This is also how "retweeting" works on the app. Instead of you sharing the story to your page, you share it to your own collection.

I just started my collections, but so far I have one for vacations I've been on and future destinations I'd like to visit!

The app is fairly new, so I'm sure there's lots more changes coming, and I think you'll want to hop aboard while it's still in this stage. The community is one of the best I've seen, and it seriously feels like you reach everyone when you post. The developers also seem to have a deep appreciation for the app and the direction it's headed in. There's currently some AMAZING giveaways going on right now too that are easy to enter and definitely worth the time to create an account. The thing is, I normally don't care about new social media apps since they already take up a good portion of my life, but this one just felt different to me. And I know this totally sounds like an ad for them but I just really like it. I'm a sucker for story telling, and Steller really does deliver in that aspect. It still has the same feel as Instagram too, which is a good thing. You won't feel totally lost using it and you'll learn the intricacies of it really fast.

The only negatives I've found with the app are these two things.

1.) When you go into the notifications, sometimes the bottom widget board for your other pages is a little glitchy and you have to scroll to get it to reappear.

2.) there's no DM feature, although I'm sure this will eventually become a thing.

That being said, just go try it out. You'll probably like it and if you follow me, I'll follow you back!

Here's my page!

Let me know what you guys think of the app in the comments!
